The 2019 Stable Cider Awards Final

•Press Event•

This year I have been fortunate to work with The Stable on a few occasions as part of my role as coordinator of the Bournemouth Bloggers. I absolutely love pizza, especially The Stable’s, but I have never really been a big fan of Cider, that was until we went along to a tasting of the Cider Awards finalists at the Bournemouth Stable.

There are so many different variations of cider, that it really was a case of not finding one I loved, rather than not being a fan of cider full stop. Ross, resident cider ambassador for the brand was on hand to take us through the tasting, giving us plenty of insight into each of the finalist ciders and what the awards were all about.

Last weekend I was invited along to the finals of the awards, again at the Bournemouth Stable, along with some of the other Bournemouth Bloggers, and we enjoyed a fantastic evening full of what the brand is known for best – cider and pizza (plus a side of their delicious potato wedges, yum!).

The evening started with a cider, of course, followed by an introduction from Ross and some live music from Weymouth musician Danny, who is really talented and was playing a great set to accompany our walk around the room talking to the finalists and trying out samples of their ciders.

When the food came out, everybody flocked to dig in, a testament to just how delicious The Stable’s pizza is. I love a good buffet, it always gives me the chance to try something new, and I found a new favourite, after initially not being sure, the Rad Kimchi Pizza with pulled pork and kimchi – it was spicy, and definitely an acquired taste based on the reactions from my fellow bloggers on the night!

The highlight of the evening was unsurprisingly the announcement of the winners of the 2019 awards. Ross did a brilliant job of ensuring all the finalists got the recognition they deserved before announcing that the boys at Crafty Nectar were the winning duo with their moreish rhubarb cider – No.8.

I had a great evening at the awards. Thanks to Ross and The Stable Bournemouth team for inviting us along.

I received a complimentary ticket to the event as press, however all words and images are my own.
