Food & Fitness Friday – Celebrating with Happy Hour at Taco Bell

The past couple of weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for Ed. He’s finished his open university degree, a degree he had been completing alongside a full time job for the past six years. He’s also applied for and been offered a training position as a teacher, the change of career he has been working towards with his degree, and one which will be a real positive for the whole family. I’m incredibly proud of him and wanted to spend our latest date night kicking back and relaxing in a chilled atmosphere.

The invitation to try out the new Happy Hour menu at Taco Bell in Poole came at just the right time. As a fast food chain, Taco Bell is brilliant for laid back dates. I recently went along to the launch event of the Poole branch and had a fantastic time, so I knew we would have an enjoyable meal.

We headed over to Taco Bell straight after Ed finished work last Friday and we were soon tucking into the feast that is the Happy Hour menu – cheesy Quesadilla Nachos (£4.49), the crunchy Chicken Share Plate (£7.50) and the dessert share plate of Churros and Chocodillas (£6.00).

The chicken especially was so yummy, and we both loved the dipping sauces which came with them, they had just the right amount of a kick to them. The chips are totally moreish, although Ed so had more than half whilst I was getting the perfect shot of him eating!

We also had a Freeze each (£1.99 each or 2 for £3 as part of the Happy Hour menu) – I still love the strawberry best!

I’m a bit fussy when it comes to desserts and I already knew I wasn’t too keen on the churros, which Ed was happy about as it meant more for him!

The amount of food was perfect for two of us as we were hungry, but would work for three as well if you weren’t feeling quite as greedy! The Happy Hour menu is available everyday between 3-6pm.

We were provided the Happy Hour menu items for the purpose of review, however all opinions and photos are my own.
