Implementing ARK Skincare into My Beauty Regime

Since turning thirty a couple of months ago, I have been making an effort to take care of my skin more, and to really think about what products I am using on both my face and my body, to nourish it and help prevent signs of ageing as I get older.

Something I am really interested in, is using products that are specifically aimed at my age range, as they will be targeting the areas which are most relevant for me.

When I was introduced to ARK Skincare, I hadn’t heard much about the brand, so it was interesting to discover more, and to have the chance to try out their age defend range, targeted at women in their 30’s and 40’s.

ARK Skincare are a British brand, using natural, bioactive ingredients that combine antioxidants, lipids and vitamins, to help treat problem areas and promote healthy skin for both men and women. They are both cruelty free and vegan friendly. Their product ranges include ageintelligent, skinperfectors and skinessentials.

I was sent across their conditioning cleanser and replenishing moisturiser from their agedefend range, and a pre-cleanse and make-up remover from their skinessential range, and have been using them for the past couple of weeks in place of my usual skincare regime, to see how my skin gets on with them, and whether they help to improve the appearance of my skin, which has definitely started showing the early signs of ageing recently.

The cleanser comes in a lovely large bottle, with an easy pump dispenser to minimise waste. The main ingredients include kiwi, passionfruit, prickly pear and blue lotus, and it has a lovely fresh, pleasing scent when you apply it.

The accompanying moisturiser is in a tub, which I was initially a little confused by, as you press down on it to dispense, which I haven’t really come across before. Again, this is helpful in minimising waste, as you only need a small amount of product at a time.

The ingredients are very similar to the cleanser, and the cream feels nice and thick, but sinks in quickly, leaving skin supple but not oily or sticky. I found the cream had quite a strong scent to it, and it reminded me of being in a spa. This wasn’t unpleasant, but it was a change from my usual moisturiser, which doesn’t have a strong scent to it.

The pre cleanse & makeup remover has been formulated for all ages, and I must admit, I didn’t get on with it very well. I am used to using a micellar water to remove my makeup before cleansing, and I found the formulation of this remover a little oilier than I would like. I know that lots of people like to use an oil-based product for makeup remover, but this one wasn’t for me.

Overall I am really impressed with the ARK Skincare range. I love the cleanser, and the moisturiser has visibly improved the appearance of my face, within only a couple of weeks of use. I think, with regular use, these products will definitely help to fight the signs of ageing.

I was gifted the products featured in this post, however all words and images are my own.
