Thinking About our Dream Home

Paid Post

One of the things I am most excited about when it comes to buying our own house is making it feel our own. Having pretty much always lived in rented accommodation (Ed owns a property, which he rents out now, but we lived there previously), I have never truly felt like my house has been fully my home. I think this is largely to do with the fact that I haven’t made the decisions when it came to the decor and even things like the windows and doors that give a house its character.

We have a conservatory in our rented accommodation, and it is such a lovely space, so bright and a total sun-trap, and I use this space as my home office, as well as it being our dining room. If we owned the house, I would definitely look at making a few changes to the conservatory to not only give it my own personal styling, but also to really make the most of the space and light.

Tuffx Glass are bespoke glass makers, based in the UK. As well as big projects (they provided the glass for The Shard in London) they also work on smaller projects too such as glass balustrades and roof lantern glass. If you are looking to do some home renovations and need some inspiration, their Instagram page is total #HouseGoals.

Ed and I are complete opposites when it comes to our dream home. He would be happiest with an old building with plenty of space and character, whilst I love the clean, crisp newer buildings with a more modern style. I feel we are going to need to compromise when it comes to finding our dream home, and I love looking on sites like Pinterest to see how we can bring some modern touches to an older, more traditional property.

I like the idea of up-cycling furniture and adding different lighting and windows to bring a new lease of life to an older building. I can’t wait to make our house our own. It has always been a dream of mine to have a family home perfect just for us and, the closer we get to achieving that dream, the more exciting it gets.

This is a paid post, however all words are my own.
