Autumn is going by in a flash and Winter will soon be upon us. I am a huge fan of December and all it entails – the Christmas parties, gatherings with friends and families and a whole host of events to attend. A jam packed social diary means finding outfits for each occasion and my winter wardrobe is severely lacking at present. Fortunately I have collaborated with JD Williams, who tasked me with finding my perfect winter outfit from their extensive collection.
Their website is full of skirts, dresses, jumpers and jumpsuits to choose from and I was more than spoilt for choice when it came to finding myself an outfit. I focused on searching for something that could be worn from day to night for those spontaneous events and festive gatherings that you don’t want to end. The Tall Black Lucy High Waist Skinny Jeans are so flattering on my figure. Having had three children, I have quite large hips and I am self conscious about my mid-section but not only are these jeans super comfy, they also streamline my body and make me feel really confident wearing them.
I went a little out of my comfort zone when it came to the top. I wanted something a little fancier than a standard top, but not something that would look out of place in a cosy country pub or our local Slug and Lettuce on a Friday afternoon. I stumbled across this Joanna Hope Frill Detail Blouse and instantly fell in love with it. As anybody shopping online will know however, clothing can look very different on the model on a website than yourself so I was concerned it wouldn’t suit me. Luckily I really loved how it looked on.
Again, the cut is really flattering for my figure, drawing the eye away from my tummy area and providing the illusion of a fuller bust at the same time. I am a little worried about owning something so white as a mum, but I will just avoid wearing it when I am with the children or around red wine!
For shoes I wanted something a bit different from heels as they can get really uncomfortable and nobody wants cold toes when the temperature drops right down. JD Williams have a brilliant selection of boots including different calf sizes meaning there is something to suit everyone. These black Flexi Sole Trouser Boots are budget friendly at just £30 and have gentle underfoot cushioning, making them the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. They go really well with the black jeans but would also look fantastic with a skirt and tights.
To finish the look, I found a Johnny Loves Rosie purse which is absolutely gorgeous and just the right size for taking out without the need for a big bag. I love the flower embroidered detailing, it gives it a nice pop of colour without being overpowering and works really well to finish off the outfit. This specific purse is out of stock but there is a similar Saddle Bag with the same design which would also work really well.
I was gifted the items featured in this post, however all words and images are my own.
