Beauty – Pre-Holiday Beauty Checklist

So, we go on honeymoon a week today (in case you‘ve somehow missed me talking about it in almost every post over the last few weeks). It’s safe to say I’m pretty excited (but nervous too, as I’m not a good flyer).

To help me relax, and to be confident out in Mexico, I’ve been having a bit of a pre-honeymoon pamper and I’ve put together a checklist for anybody else jetting off on holiday this Spring.

Haircut & Colour

Yesterday I went to my favourite salon and had my hair cut and a full head of highlights. It’s something that I only really have done a few times a year, as I can’t afford to do it more often, and it was really nice to relax and be pampered. My roots had started looking absolutely awful, so it was really nice to treat myself. My hair’s quite a bit shorter now as well, but I’m really happy with how it looks.

Temporary Eyebrow & EyelashMakeup

A little while ago I was sent the Colorsport 30 Day Mascara and Brow Tint to review, and I had planned to use them this week ready for the honeymoon.

Unfortunately I have a very sore, dry patch of skin just under my left eyebrow and the kits say not to use them near any inflamed skin. It’s frustrating as these kits are perfect to use before a beach holiday.

Providing salon style tinting at home, which will last up to around 30 days, you don’t need to apply mascara or eyebrow pencil, making for a fuss free look during the days spent by the pool.

The application is quick and simple, and the kits are affordable at around £8 each, available from Boots.

The day before we fly out, I’m heading to the beauty salon to have a gel manicure and pedicure. I can’t wait for a bit of pampering, and to get my hands and feet holiday ready with a nice bright pop of colour.

Fake Tan

Some people prefer not to fake tan before a holiday, but after months of bitterly cold weather, and hiding indoors bundled up under layers of clothes, I’ve been feeling extra pale lately.

I have never, and would never, use a sunbed due to the risks, so I stick to fake tan to give my skin a healthy glow and I’ve been trying out Lusso Tan’s La Dolce Vita medium tan, with their mitt.

The tan is organic, natural and fragrance free (Ed was pleased as he isn’t a fan of digestive biscuit scent some tans have). Being used to using a foam tan, I wasn’t sure how the tan would look once applied but I was happy with the result, and a little product went a long way leaving a lovely deep tan.

This post includes some items which were gifted to me, however all opinions and photos are my own.
