Mummy Mondays – Cameron and Carly Join the Mini Bakers Club

I love baking with the children. I used to bake a lot when I was younger and then gradually I stopped finding the time for it, so I was very excited when the team behind the Mini Bakers Club got in touch and offered to send Cameron and Carly their very own personalised box in the post.

The Mini Bakers Club is craft & baking subscription box for children, providing a variety of activities all centred around a theme.

February’s set had a love theme, to tie in with Valentine’s Day, and the set contained ingredients for making Jammy dodgers and love bugs.

The children were so excited when they opened it. Cameron is a confident reader and happily read through what was included in the set.

The children aren’t big fans of jam, so they were a bit dubious about the jammy dodgers, but they came round to the idea when I said they could give them to their teachers at school.

We made these as an after school activity, and the children really enjoyed being given the responsibility to make the tarts themselves, with minimal help from me.

The majority of the equipment and ingredients were included in the box, but it is worth reading over the recipe before getting started as you will still need a few things, including a rolling pin, butter and an egg.

I think Carly’s favourite part was when we used the heart cutter, and then pushed holes into these with the included straw.

As the children don’t like jam, I decided to make some of them with chocolate spread, and I think the children approved of this!

The kids also had fun on their snow day off school putting together the love bug.

Priced at £9.99 a month, with discounts available for 3, 6 and 12 monthly subscription packages, and a £1.99 postage and packaging fee, the Mini Bakers Club is fairly good value for money, and is perfect if you like planning activities for your kids but struggle to find inspiration.

The service has no contract, and you are able to cancel any time with the monthly option, meaning you can see if it’s for you before deciding whether to commit to one of the packages.

With most of the items you will need for the activities included in the box, this would be fantastic to have for after school activity sessions, or to take along on your next staycation.

We were sent the February Mini Bakers box for the purpose of this review, however all opinions and photos are our own.
