Mother’s Day is just under two weeks away, if you’re here in the UK, and I am really looking forward to not just spoiling my own mum, but being totally spoilt myself too.
Sometimes it can be blooming tough being a mum, and I am very much looking forwardto having a day dedicated to celebrating mothers.
I’ve put together a gift guide filled with ideas for old mums, new mums, those about to become mums, and those people who may not be related to you by blood, but have been like a mother to you over the years. Let’s celebrate them all!
Guylian Chocolates available from Supermarkets Nationwide
What better way to a woman’s heart than chocolate? Guylian are always a safe bet (I featured their classic chocolate box in my Valentine’s Gift Guide), and this gorgeous selection would make the perfect gift this Mother’s Day. Some of those chocolates look almost too good to eat (almost). Guylian chocolates are available from most supermarkets, this particular Master’s Selection is on Moonpig.
Thermos Stainless King Flask – Thermos
Perhaps not the most feminine of gifts, but this 1.2l themos flask is totally practical, and something mum will be able to use again and again.
This flask, which insulates its contents for a full 24 hour period, is made for somebody who is always on the go, as most of us mums are.
I love that it not only keeps hot liquids hot, but it will also keep cold liquids cold – perfectfor those summer days I can’t wait to welcome with open arms.
It’s available from a range of shops including Argos and John Lewis or can be ordered online from Amazon or direct from the Thermos website.
Indoor Allotment – Prezzybox
This indoor allotment is so cute, and would be a lovely gift for somebody who perhaps doesn’t have a garden themselves.
It comes with everything you need to get started including basil, coriander and oregano seeds to grow. I love the adorable design, such a sweet gift!
Vibrating Foot Massager – Prezzybox
Another great gift idea from Prezzybox, this foot massager vibrates to relieve tension in both feet at once.
I got Ed to try this out as he struggles a lot with his feet and is constantly asking for them to be rubbed, and he liked it, although he advised not to use it at night as it’s a little on the loud side!
I Am Cards – Mindful Life Journeys
I love a unique gift idea, and these ‘I Am’ cards are brilliant for an empowering present for mums of any ages, but I particularly think they would work well for new mums, who are still perhaps finding their feet, and need a boost to their self confidence.
I love how positive these cards are, and how they can bring strength and courage to those who receive them. You can order them from the Mindful Journeys website.
STEM Wide Base Mix – Anthology Five
This versatile ornament from Anthology Five, which comes in a range of different colours, would be a fantastic gift for the mum who has everything.
This fantastic piece allows you to adapt it as necessary to become a vase, or to hold a tea light candle. It even comes with its very own wick to allow for oil candles!
The Anthology Five website also has a range of other ornaments and some stylish furniture options, if you want to really spoil mum this Mother’s Day.
Mummy Bee Gift Set from Beefayre
Know somebody who is expecting a baby this year? Mums-to-be still deserve recognition on Mother’s Day, and what better way to show them you care than giving them a lovely pampering gift set?
The Mummy Bee gift sets from Beefayre, would also be a fantastic gift for a new mum. The one I received included a scented candle, lip balm and aloe vera lotion along with a pack of seeds.
Made with lavender and geranium essential oils, this gift will help to relax and unwind after a long day.
Bath Soak & Body Butter – Grace Cole
I’ve been a huge fan of Grace Cole products ever since I featured them in my Valentine’s Gift Guide, and I think this bath soak and body butter duo would be a lovely gift to give or receive for Mother’s Day.
If your mum isn’t into bath products, the range also includes some lovely reed infusers and candles.
Joan Collins Perfume and Leighton Denny Nail File – Joan Collins Beauty & Leighton Denny Expert Nails
When it comes to buying a gift for Ed’s mum, I get really nervous and never know what to get for her.
I love these gift ideas that were sent over by Alex Silver PR, the perfume smells lovely and I love the pretty little bottle it comes in.
The nail file is crystal, and both would be lovely additions to a dressing table.
Indigo Herbs Gift Sets – Indigo Herbs
These Indigo Herb sets are brilliant for mums who need to be taken care of. Both sets have an essential oil and massage oil, as well as loose tea and the cutest strawberry silicone tea infuser.
Indigo Herbs, an ethical and eco-friendly British based company, also have a range of other gift ideas as well as an array of loose teas, aromatherapy oils and superfoods.
Matilda Mae Bag – Mia Tui
This bag is brilliant. Not only is the cross body messenger style a lovely size, not too big, not too small, it comes with a matching clutch bag with wrist strap.
My mum is going to love her new Matilda Mae bag. Like me, she likes to carry a lot of things around with her daily, and the Mia Tui bags have a vast array of internal sections.
With a key clip, phone pocket, bottle holder and pen holder, this bag will keep everything neat and tidy, even in the most jam packed of handbags.
Jenny Wren Chocolates available from Sainsbury’s
I featured these in my Valentine’s Gift Guide but I just had to put them in again as I love the beautiful packaging!
This box of chocolates would be very well received this Mother’s Day, or for any occasion really.
Champagne Flute Set – Giftpup
This Champagne Flute Set is my favourite. I am partial to a nice glass of Prosecco and will be enjoying this mini bottle on Mother’s Day in the beautiful personalised flute.
The champagne flute can be personalised – I had ‘the minions’ added for my kids!
Giftpup also offer a huge range of other fantastic present ideas including a Mother’s Day range. I absolutely love their personalised teapots – so cute!
Craft Sets – Crafters Companion
I am way too impatient myself to sit still and enjoy craft actitvities, but these lovely sets from Crafters Companion would make wonderful gifts.
I know my nan would enjoy the embroidery set and the make your own clasp purse looks like a lot of fun!
Crafters Companion is a craft treasure trove, with ahuge array of fabric, knitting accessories, ribbons, templates and books as well as plenty of brilliant gift ideas.
Cake Decoration – Cake Angels
Fancy making something a bit more personal for your mum this year? Why not bake her a cake?
When I received this parcel through the post, packed full of goodies from cake decorating specialists Cake Angels, I couldn’t help but smile at how bright and fun everything was!
I am going to enjoy making a treat for my mum. If you fancy getting creative in thekitchen, the Cake Angels range is available from their website or in most supermarkets.
Ethical beauty is really becoming more mainstream these days, which is fantastic. If you are buying for somebody who is vegan and/or sticks to ethical brands, Naturaline is the place to go for skincare products including these brilliant goodies.
I love the packaging, and the Macadamia Nut & Pomegranate lip balm in particular is incredible!
Book of Mum – Book of Everyone
I featured the Book of Everyone in my Valentine’s Gift Guide, and it would be perfect for Mother’s Day as well.
Simply head online to their website, where you can choose the right book for the occasion, personalise it, and have it delivered right to their door (which makes it the perfect option if you are unable to see mum in person this year, for whatever reason).
I loved the book I made for Ed and he loves it too!
A heartfelt card finishes off your gift. I love the huge range that Hallmark have, including these brilliant designs.
I particularly like the Winnie the Pooh one, as it is generic enough for even the most complicated of relationships this Mother’s Day.
My mum prefers cards with lots of words, whereas I prefer a pretty picture or a novelty slogan.
Whatever your mum’s tastes, I’m confident you’ll be able to find acard to suit from Hallmark, available online and in most card shops.
The products featured in this gift guide were sent to me for inclusion in this post, however all opinions and photos are my own.
