In the past I have never been one to wear watches. I think the last one I owned was back in my early teens, probably a birthday gift, the latest must have design from a well known high street catalogue shop.
Generally I rely on my ever present iPhone if I need to check the time, so I haven’t really missed not having a watch. However, whilst searching on Pinterest for style inspiration lately, my eyes kept being drawn to the images of women with watches on.
These weren’t the cheap watches of my childhood though, it appears that times have changed when it comes to wristwatches, and the humble timepiece can totally transform an outfit.
When Daniel Wellington offered to send over one of their watches, I was a little overwhelmed by the choice of colours and styles on their website.
They have watches to suit every occasion (for both men and women), with each item promising to be an elegant addition to your collection.
In the end, after much deliberation, I went for the Classic Bondi in Eggshell White and Rose Gold (also available in silver) with a beautiful white leather strap.
It’s very clean, crisp and feminine, which was important to me as I prefer my accessories to be subtle rather than big and bold, and to blend in with the rest of my look.
The white strap might not be that practical with young children, but I fell in love with how elegant this watch looked on the website and I can confirm that it’s every bit as stylish as it looks online.
The straps come in different widths, with a handy guide on the website to show how each style will look on your arm, which I found really useful. Mine is the 32mm, which is perfect for me.
I like the minimalistic style of the watch front. Some watches can be too busy, but Daniel Wellington have kept it simple with their range, and I think it pays off.
The Bondi watch is rain restistant, which is handy with the British weather never knowing what it’s doing, and if you get bored with the strap or it does get dirty, it’s interchangeable so can be swapped for another one easily.
Daniel Wellington also offer a range of accessories to compliment your watch, which is a fantastic idea. I was sent the Rose Gold cuff, which looks beautiful against the white strap of the watch.
I love how delicate and simple the cuff is, so aesthetically pleasing and totally tasteful.
With my thirties fast approaching, I’ve been making an effort to choose clothing which looks stylish and sophisticated. My #danielwellington watch and cuff duo are the perfect addition to my look, statement pieces which will stand the test of time.
