Beauty – Stocking up on Makeup Essentials

You may have noticed by now, I’m a big fan of No7 makeup, and Boots in general. It’s my go-to shop for all things beauty, helped along by its wonderful advantage card (even better now I’m expecting a baby and am part of the parenting club). The other day I was running out of foundation so I popped into the shop for a new bottle and ended up coming away with a couple of other bits.

No7 Stay Perfect Foundation in Calico

I’ve been using this foundation for a good many months now. I was using a different shade originally but find this one to be truest to my skin tone. The foundation tends to stay put most of the day, when used with a primer. It’s not the best out there, but for a mid-range price of £14.50 I think it’s pretty good going and works for me.

No7 Perfect Light Pressed Powder in Translucent

I love this powder. I did briefly go over to a cheaper powder but it just wasn’t as good, and I found it less and less effective as time went by so I’m back to No7 for my powder. I love that it comes in its own compact with a mirror and powder puff applicator too, so it’s hassle free.

No7 Beautiful Blossom Gift Box

I’m not going to lie, this was the main reason I ended up getting the powder, as I didn’t strictly ‘need’ it right away. The set has inside Airbrush Away Primer (10ml), Dramatic Lift Mascara (4.5ml) and Stay Perfect Eye Shadow in Cappuccino. Although the products in this gift box are only miniature, this set also included a voucher for a free colour match lipstick (worth £9.95) so it was definitely a good purchase.

No7 Colour Match Moisture Drench Lipstick in Caramel Silk

I used the voucher right away and came away with this beautiful neutral pink shade, perfect for work. It wasn’t until afterwards I realised I had selected this shade myself in the past (maybe I am good at colour matching after all). This lipstick is a lovely colour and is really hydrating on my lips as well.
Bourjois Push Up Volume Glamour in Ultra Black

The only none No7 product but I love this mascara and don’t see myself using a different one anytime soon. At £8.99 it’s not too expensive and it gives me lovely full lashes and wide awake eyes in just one coat.
I went into Boots with 2 points on my advantage card (I’d recently used them all up stocking up on baby things) and came away with over £4.00 worth, so like I say, worth a trip!
Do you love Boots as much as me? What are your makeup staples?
