Wedding Wednesday – Sit Down with a Supplier – Charlotte Elizabeth Photography

For this week’s Sit Down with a Supplier, Charlotte of Charlotte Elizabeth Photography talks us through her experiences and tips.
Hi Charlotte, can you please explain what your company does?

Charlotte Elizabeth Photography specialises in wedding and family photography. We focus on capturing natural, unobtrusive photographs and photographing the day as it unfolds.

What are your top tips for couples?

My top tip for any couple is to remember what your day is about. There’s so much planning and preparation that goes into a wedding day, it’s easy to become focused on creating the perfect day and worrying about what could go wrong. As long as you end the day legally married to the love of your life, nothing else really matters.

What do you enjoy most about working in the wedding industry?

I love being able to have a part in a couples special day. Every wedding is unique, but it’s always about moving onto the next stage in life with someone you love and being surrounded by friends and family who are helping to celebrate that union and love.

What are the trends for 2016-2017?

The rustic feel has been coming back into fashion. More couples have been opting for outdoor, or barn weddings with natural colours and a relaxed feel to the day. Although the traditional wedding breakfast will always be popular, more couples have been moving towards a more informal buffet style meal for their days.

Other than your own company/product, what would you recommend for a wedding?

I would always recommend giving a trusted member of the wedding party an emergency kit. It should include things like hair grips, perfume, deodorant, lipstick, plasters and safety pins. A needle and thread can come in handy, as can tissues. It’s the little bits like this that often get forgotten, and are often needed on the day.

What would be your dream wedding venue?

I’ve always wanted to be married in the church at the top of my road. It has a lot of significance to me, my parents, grandparents and great grandparents were all married there so I’d like to continue the tradition. For the reception I’d love to have a tipi in the grounds of Cannon Hall. It would be big enough for all my family and friends and is one of my favourite places in the world.
Thank you Charlotte. It’s been lovely chatting with you!
