Scissors salons have built up a reputation in the local area for their style and professionalism. Their rebrand to the existing Francesco Group last week was exciting and a chance to show who they are and what they stand for.
Here’s what the Francesco Group had to say about the rebrand:
“For many years Francesco Group have been responsible for training the Scissors team and in 2016, we felt the time was right to bring the two respected and established brands together”.
I was happy to be invited to come into the Bournemouth salon for a cut, treatment and blow dry and to chat with the team regarding their rebrand.
The Bournemouth branch is really conveniently located, right in the centre of town, and just down the road from New Look and Miss Selfridge – I couldn’t resist a quick window shop before my appointment.
I was greeted with a smile, asked to fill in a short form (which I loved as I was grouped in with 17 year olds in my age category, yes!) and then directed up the stairs where Head Stylist Kinga was awaiting me.
The salon was bright, clean and airy with lots of big mirrors and colourful products on the walls.
I was sat down and put at ease instantly with Kinga’s laid back and warm reception. She obviously really knew her stuff and provided a thorough consultation, focusing on diagnosing any problems I had with my hair and scalp (she noted that I had dandruff and I agreed that it could be quite sensitive and painful) and then talking through the treatments and products she would be using on my hair.
We also discussed the fact that I am growing my hair out for my wedding next year and looked at the best option regarding the style, working with not taking too much off but still looking at what would suit me.
I’ve never had such an in-depth discussion about my hair before and really felt confident in what would be done during the appointment. I was shown the complimentary refreshment menu and opted for a still water before being shown over to the sinks where my hair wash and treatment began.
I had been warned that one of the treatments would leave my scalp feeling cold and tingly so I wasn’t worried when this happened, but Kinga was sure to check in with me that the sensation was ok. Throughout the whole process, I was always asked if everything was OK, from water temperature to the heat of the hot towel placed on my head for five minutes.
After my hair treatment was completed I was taken back to my seat and given my water. We then confirmed the cut and Kinga worked her magic.
Although not taking too much off the length, Kinga managed to still revamp my style and help frame my face better. The blowdry afterwards further helped to give my hair shape and body and the end result left me wishing I was going somewhere more interesting than Cameron’s school for his transition to year 1 meeting…
Kinga went back over the products used on my hair, commenting on which she would suggest my hair would benefit from the most. There was no hard sell and the products were reasonably priced at around £8 a bottle, which I would definitely consider when my current products run out as my hair really felt the difference.
Kinga was even kind enough to give me a couple of sample sized products so that I could use them again at home to make sure they were right for me before buying them.
If you are looking for a hair salon I would highly recommend a trip to the Francesco group. They have salons in several locations all over the country and offer such a personalised service, the best I have experienced. The team in the Bournemouth salon are all friendly and truly know their stuff. If you’re in the area, make sure you stop by.
