The moment you get engaged will always be one of the most memorable times of your life. It can be such an emotional, loved-filled, and overwhelming experience – but one that feels incredible. When it happens, you may feel as if you’re on cloud nine! But at the same time, you may not know where you need to go from here. The idea of planning a wedding might feel like a lot to take on, but it doesn’t have to be. And you certainly don’t have to rush into it! So in this blog post, we’re going to look at some of the next steps you may want to take after getting engaged.
Enjoy the Engagement Buzz
First of all, you’ll always want to ensure that you can just enjoy being engaged. You don’t have to rush right into all things weddings. It’s night to just enjoy the buzz and excitement of being engaged and feel like you get to be in a happy love bubble, basking in your engagement.
Think About Wedding Plans
When you’re ready to step out of your engagement bubble for a moment, you can both start to think about the wedding itself. Here, you may find that getting a wedding planner book will help. If you have no idea where to start, it’s a great idea to have guidance on some of the areas you might want to think about. At this stage, it can be exciting to just dream and throw some ideas around.
Agree On What You Want
As you’re starting to think of ideas and look into options, you’ll both want to agree on what you want. Is it a small church service or a huge wedding? Home or abroad? Traditional or modern? Although one of you may take the lead with some things, it’s great to make sure you both know how you want this to go.
Prioritise What’s Important to You
When it comes to choosing how you want your day to be, there is always a lot to keep in mind. But you can do things your way and go with a style of wedding that suits you both as a couple. You don’t have to follow traditions or whatever the latest wedding trends are. It’s entirely up to you if you want to do things your way. So think about the key elements of the day that feel the most important to you and focus on those. That way, your wedding day will be entirely personal to you.
Enjoy the Planning Process
Finally, you’re then going to want to make sure that you’re able to enjoy the time you spend planning your wedding. When there seems like there’s a lot to do, things might feel like they’re going by in a flash. Plus, it can feel quite overwhelming and stressful when you’re thinking about some of the things you need to do and decide – particularly in a short space of time. So many sure that you take your time, do things your way, and enjoy the planning process from start to finish.
