Press Tickets
What can I say? As soon as I was invited to Ghost: The Musical, I knew it would be amazing. I eagerly anticipated the opening night and I was not disappointed. Unlike most of the shows I have been to see, Ghost is one of those films I have seen so many times, the words are engrained on my mind, much like Dirty Dancing.
I was invited along to the pre-show press drinks and was seriously impressed by the entertainment BhLive had put on, including complimentary palm readings, which was epic! Mine was really accurate, and I am interested to see what happens in the next few years of my life based on what I was told. Alongside this, there was complimentary wine, beer and cupcakes and the chance to pose for photos with the potters wheel. It was a lovely way to start the evening in the company of friends.
The show itself was amazing! If you are a fan of the film, you will love this adaptation. As well as mostly sticking to the script, with a few modernisations as the original film was back in the nineties, the acting was top class! I was really impressed with the whole cast, and I was enthralled from start to finish. The acting was amazing, and I was particularly impressed with the lead actors, especially Jacqui Dubois who played Oda Mae Brown.
The staging was done really well, I especially liked the subway scenes, which were difficult to master. I was on the edge of my seat throughout and couldn’t wait to get back to the second act after the interval.
It is an emotional storyline, and one which I was unsure how I would enjoy as I recently lost my nan, but honestly, as a fan of the film adaptation, this is a must see! I was stood clapping at the end, happy with the way the show had been portrayed. This is a brilliant musical, and worth a watch, whether you are a fan of the 90’s film, as I am, or not. I would definitely watch again, and would recommend to anybody who loves the film, or the story as a whole.
Ghost: The Musical is on in Bournemouth at The Pavilion until Saturday evening, if you would like to attend, I really recommend this show. It is well acted and a credit to the original storyline, with original musical numbers that are worth a listen.
I was gifted tickets to this show, however all words are my own.
