Wedding planning is something that most people will only do once, which is great – because it’s a very stressful ordeal. Of course, it’s exciting to think about your big day and how great everything is going to turn out, but it’s a lot of hard work before you can arrive at that point. It’s going to be very difficult to get everything to go the way you want it to, which is why many people start planning their wedding over a year in advance. You need the time, or else it’s going to be far too stressful.

It’s not uncommon to make a few mistakes here and there while planning, but some mistakes can be very costly and can take away from your wedding experience.

Lack of teamwork

Planning a wedding isn’t just a one-person job, it requires both of you. If you’re both going to remember the wedding day as the happiest day of your lives, then you’re going to need to be planning it together from the start. Being a team in planning means it’s easier to meet the wants and needs of both of you.

Not only does it help with getting things together, but it takes a lot of the stress off of the one person who was originally going to try and plan everything themselves. Some couples prefer to do it this way, however, it leaves a lot more room for mistakes.

Giving guests enough notice

If you want to make sure all of your friends and family can make it to the wedding, you need to make sure you’re giving enough of a warning in advance. It’s especially important to give early notice to your guests if you’re expecting them to travel far from home to attend. These save the date cards can be the perfect way to make sure everyone can attend your wedding! The invitations you send out are important, as they’re going to allow you to get a good idea of how many people are coming based on the replies you receive!

Saving money on a photographer/videographer

Looking at the costs of everything when planning a wedding can be quite stressful. If you’re on a budget, then you’re going to naturally try to cut costs from some of the features on your day. One of the things you should never try to cut down is how much you’re spending on a photographer or videographer. You might be thinking that you don’t need one and that videos and pictures others are taking is going to be enough – but that is never the case.

Professional photographers can help you to relive your wedding years later, and will produce the most beautiful photos of your big day – something you cannot skip!

Not picking a venue early enough

If you want to have your wedding in a specific area during a specific season – you best be ready to get it booked as soon as possible. The better the venue, the more likely it is to be in high demand; which means long wait times for available bookings.
