Getting married can feel like a mass of contradictions. After all, it’s meant to be the best day of your life, but there is so much stress and anxiety that can come along with it. The good news is that by being as organised as possible before your big day, you can help remove a lot of the stress, giving you room to truly be present and enjoy your day. With that in mind, keep reading for some suggestions of things to sort out well before your wedding day.
Your theme
Many people based their weddings around a specific theme these days, and it can impact just about everything from the type of flowers you choose to your dress. To that end, it makes much more sense to come up with a theme first, as it will then be able to inform all the other choices that you make.
In particular, choosing a theme early will help you narrow down the type of venues you wish to look around. A task that is also best done early, as popular venues can be booked up to two years in advance!
Your rings
Another thing that it’s important you get sorted before your wedding day are the rings. This includes the wedding rings, and of course an engagement ring, which symbolises the promise that you both make to one another.
For the engagement ring, choosing something like a three quarter carat diamond is an excellent choice as it’s a substantial weight, yet will cost significantly less than a full carat. This should ensure that the bride has a beautiful ring that will sparkle on her big day and act as the perfect accompaniment to the wedding ring she will receive.
For wedding rings, there are a variety of options to consider, from plan bands to ones with additional stones, or scrollwork. It is very wise to choose and get wedding rings well before the day, as they often need alterations to ensure they fit propels something that can take time and will only add additional stress as the wedding gets closer.

Your flowers
Now, if you have chosen fresh flowers you will not want them to be made up ahead of the big day, as they will wilt and not look their best. Yet the design, types and colours of the blooms you will use are something that must be sorted well ahead of time. Otherwise, your florist may not be able to find the specific plants that you need.
Your entertainment
It makes a lot of sense to get your entertainment sorted well before your wedding date because the most popular options tend to get booked up in advance. That means if you book a year or more ahead of your date, you have a much better opportunity to get the DJ, band, photo booth or singer you want.
To book your wedding entertainment in advance you will need to pay a deposit to the performer. It’s also a good idea to check in with them a few times before the big day so they know exactly what you want.
