Alright, alright, I know it’s only the first full week of February, but the promise of spring is here, and I’ve been lusting over all the new clothes to hit the shops since Christmas was over. This week I finally gave in and treated myself to a few new pieces.
I don’t know about you, but I seem to have a definite colour that looks better on me than others, and that colour is red. Fortunately for me, red seem to be in fashion currently (perhaps because of that oh so romantic day next week), and New Look have a whole host of beautiful pieces featuring a red hue.
The first thing I saw when I walked in the door were these gorgeous ballet pumps. I’ve been looking for a pair of flat shoes for ages, having lived in my boots over Christmas, but I just wasn’t feeling any of them until I came across these ones. They are only £9.99 too, such a bargain, and will most likely be worn to death over the coming months!
Right by them was my trusty wardrobe staple, a striped tee, however this one was red and white rather than my usual blue. My mum (and a girl I overheard) said it looked very French, and I guess it does a little, but I really like it.
It’s nice and causal and perfect for the school run and working from home and it’s only £8.99!
On a roll, I came across this brilliant jumper.
New Look have absolutely been killing it lately with their slogan jumpers, and this one is perfect for me. I prefer sweatshirts to knits in general, and the black and red go really well together.
Priced at £15.99, this is my second favourite buy.
Next I wanted some clothes that I could wear for meetings as I’ve just taken on some freelance work and need to move away from my usual skirt and polo neck combo whilst out and about.
I love both this casual black sleeveless blouse and printed floaty top.
They work well with jeans, but can be dressed up with black trousers or a skirt as well.
My gaze kept going back to this Embellished pale pink body, but I was sure it wouldn’t suit me.
In the end I picked it up anyway, and I actually love how it looks with this plain black blazer (from New Look two years ago) and my trusty jeans (also New Look -India super skinny, current stock).
I think it would also look incredible with black jeans and heels for a night out.
I wanted something a little girly to wear for date nights, and found this pretty muted floral print dress with spaghetti straps as I was heading towards the tills.
I love the style, especially as it’s not something I would usually go for, and I felt so feminine wearing it (although I totally need to give my legs some TLC, they are not ready to come out after winter just yet).
Finally I saw this red body next to the tills and just had to have it.
I have only recently started wearing bodysuits, having avoided them for years as they are so fiddly when you need the loo, but I’m really pleased I bought this one as it really suits me (modest much?) and only cost £8.99!
Such good value, and a really flattering cut too. I love it with jeans and a blazer, but it would look equally lovely with a tight black skirt too.
I’m really pleased with my buys and will be heading back soon for some clothes to take with us on honeymoon!
Have you bought anything from New Look recently? What are your favourite pieces from my haul?
