Valentines Gift Guide – For Him

It’s that time of year again, when people firmly place themselves in one of two camps. There’s the people, like myself, who love Valentine’s Day and all it stands for, and there are those people who don’t agree with it, which is fine, but if you’re one of those people you might want to look away from this post..

Valentine’s Day, for me, is the perfect opportunity to show that special person in your life just how much they mean to you. Yes, you could argue that you should do this the whole year through, but this day is a chance to really spoil your partner.

Gifts don’t have to cost an arm and a leg, it truly is the thought that counts when it comes to celebrating your love, so I thought I would put together a selection of gifts that are both thoughtful and fun for the man in your life this Valentine’s….

The Book of Everyone (Romantic Edition) – Book of Everyone

I first heard about The Book of Everyone when my cousin received a book from his mum for his birthday last year. The books are brilliant for people, like Ed, who love to impart trivia to others, as the books are packed full of little bits of information all about you and the world around you.

The books are available in a range of cover designs and colours, and can be adapted for different occasions, including a romantic one perfect for Valentine’s.

I had great fun personalising Ed’s for him, and was impressed with how quick the delivery was.

Diesel Boxer Set from Mainline Menswear

Ed has expensive taste when it comes to underwear, and I have noticed lately that he is in need of some new pairs. I love the set of Diesel boxers I chose for him, from Mainline Menswear.

This set features a dark grey, classic black and bright pink pair perfect for Valentine’s Day, and I know Ed will love them. The site has a huge range of products available including some fantastic gift sets, and designer apparel.

Personalised Star Map from Under Lucky Stars

I hadn’t heard of Under Lucky Stars before, but when I came across them I fell in love with their personalised star maps.

The website is totally user friendly, and you simply pop in the date and location you want to get an accurate star map. I chose the date of our wedding in Santorini for Ed’s one and I love that we will have this memento to display in our home.

The map is available in a range of designs to suit the recipient (I went for the classic dark blue for Ed), and can be fully personalised with text at the top and bottom of the print.

Although located overseas, shipping is free, which is impressive, and was pretty fast too. Order now to get your print in time for Valentine’s (although it would also make a perfect birthday or anniversary gift).

Rugby Tee from Art of Football

I featured Art of Football in my Christmas Gift Guide as well. They have such a wonderful collection of prints, t-shirts and jumpers available, and the quality is amazing.

I really love the t-shirt I got for Ed. It features an iconic scene from England winning the World Cup in 2003 (apparently, I know nothing about rugby), and I think he will really like it.

I think it’s great that the site caters for those who aren’t that into football, with plenty of designs for both rugby and boxing as well.

Aftershave from Perfume Click

Aftershave is a fail safe gift for Valentines. I always use it as an excuse to get Ed to try new scents, as he’s a bit of a creature of habit when it comes to frangrances.

Perfume Click have a huge range of products on offer, many with big discounts, and I picked up both the Cerruti and Rudimental aftershaves for him for less than £25 in total.

I absolutely love how masculine the 1881 scent from Cerruti smells, it’s quite a strong scent, but I think it will be perfect for Ed.

Axe Throwing Experience from Whistle Punks

When I heard about this, I was like WTF? But Ed was so excited when I told him that we were heading off to try it out as an early valentines surprise!

We went along to try this out at the weekend and it was so much fun! I was really surprised just how much I enjoyed it (despite being awful at it) and Ed was so good he managed to win the tournament against the rest of those in our group!

If you’re struggling to think of a gift for your partner, this is bound to be something they haven’t tried before!

With locations in London, Birmingham and Manchester, Whistle Punks have got unique date nights covered!

Venn Diagram Couples Poster from Find me a Gift

As Ed is training to be a maths teacher, and did a degree in the subject, I knew this Venn diagram poster would be perfect as a gift for him this Valentine’s Day. Find me a Gift have a huge range of designs available, all personalised and available on posters with or without a frame, as a canvas and even on light boxes!

I really enjoyed personalising this one with words and phrases that mean something to us as a couple (and probably look downright weird to an outsider).

Priced from just £9.99 for a poster, this is an affordable gift that really shows how much you care.

Perfect Match Chocolates from Find me a Gift

If you’re looking for a bit more of a novelty gift, Find me a Gift also have a brilliant selection of products under £10 including these adorable (and totally yummy) ‘Perfect Match’ shaped chocolates.

I also love the individual chocolate pizza slices, available in a range of flavours. They even have edible anus chocolates, although these are a bit more of a risqué gift!

Alcatel U5 4G Smartphone (available from Argos)

You may not have the budget for the latest iPhone (I mean, not many people do have a spare grand lying around), but if your partner’s phone is looking a bit dated, a budget friendly option is the Alcatel Smartphone, which has a 5″display, 5MP rear camera and plenty of fun filters and apps to play around with.

Just like it’s competitors, but at a fraction of the cost (currently priced at £89.95 in Argos), this is fun but practical gift.

Love (With Ace) Print in Frame from Vintage Playing Cards

I came across this treasure trove of a website whilst putting together this gift guide and I love all the gift ideas using vintage playing cards!

Their range includes some fantastic romantic prints like this one, as well as gifts suitable for other occasions such as weddings and a new baby. I really love their Friends inspired Lobster print – so cute!

King of Hearts Mug from Vintage Playing Cards

If prints aren’t your thing, Vintage Playing Cards also have a selection of high quality printed mugs including the brilliant King of Hearts mug (Queen of Hearts Mug also available, sold separately).

I was really impressed with how bright the colours were on these mugs – they are awesome and make the perfect Valentine’s Gift for a very reasonable £10.

Nom Nom Peanut Butter & Anglesey Sea Salt Chocolate from Sous Chef

I couldn’t resist including something with Peanut Butter, as Ed absolutely loves it. This chocolate bar, which includes sea salt as well as the sweet stuff, is the perfect treat to add to your gift this Valentine’s.

If Peanut Butter isn’t their thing, Sous Chef also have a range of other chocolate bars on offer including Honeycomb, Hazelnut and White Chocolate & Pistachio – yum!

The products featured in this gift guide were sent to me for inclusion in this post, however all opinions and photos are my own.

I’m sorry to say that unfortunately I am one of those that thinks Feb 14th is a massive money making scheme for retailers (sorrrrrrry!) I always have done. Don’t get me wrong. My boyfriend and I shall still get each other a card and maybe go out for dinner or spend the evening in with take away and movies.

Even so, this is a great post! There’s some lovely gift ideas on here xx
