Wedding Wednesday – Sit Down with a Supplier – Wow Grass

I came across Wow Grass on Twitter and loved the concept. Luckily Caroline was able to chat with me so I could find out more about their company.

Hi Caroline, can you please explain what your company does?

We are all about transforming spaces. Our product, WowGrass, is real grass; it’s fresh, alive and soil-free. It can be laid indoors or outdoors, anywhere; it can cover floors, walls, furniture, and its use is limited purely by your imagination.

Whether you want to transform the entire floor of your reception area with grass to create an indoor garden or festival theme, enjoy drinks served from a real grass bar, or create a simple yet beautiful real grass aisle to walk down, using WowGrass will add something truly memorable to your wedding day. Revel in the look, smell and feel of real grass and create a unique experience. The best bit: WowGrass is soil-free so no mess – and no mud means your heels don’t sink in!

What are your top tips for couples?

If you don’t have the budget to cover the entire room in an alternative flooring such as WowGrass, it is worth looking at the whole space and consider how patches or pools of alternative floor covering could be used to break up the room and to provide links to your theme or colour scheme. For example a WowGrass aisle against the contrasting venue floor can have just as much ‘wow factor’ as covering the whole room. Sometimes less really is more!

What do you enjoy most about working in the wedding industry?

I love the variety of enquiries that come in showing the creativity of both event planners and brides & grooms in creating their perfect day. We love working with talented industry professionals on transforming a space – whether it is with the wedding co-ordinator, the florist, the theming company, or the caterers, it is fabulous to see everyone working together to create a truly magical day for the couple and their guests.

What are the trends for 2017?

A continuing trend this year will be bringing the outdoors indoors, which has been enhanced by the announcement of Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2017 as Greenery 15-0343. It’s a beautiful fresh and zesty green shade and works for weddings at any time of year.

One instant way to bring the outdoors indoors it to use soil-free WowGrass as a flooring option to give you all the benefits of real grass, with no mud and no mess. Combine this with plenty of green foliage alongside more traditional flowers, to bring a really fresh feel to your venue

Other than your own company/product, what would you recommend for a wedding?

I would always say never skimp on the photographer. A quality professional photographer will capture not only all the key moments but all the little things you may have missed – an expression on someone’s face, a moment of laughter between friends – all the things that went into making your day surrounded by friends and family truly unique. If the budget will stretch to it, add in a videographer who will create a properly edited film of the whole occasion – the day will pass by in a blur and watching your story unfold on the screen after the event will continue the magic.

What would be your dream wedding venue?

An old industrial space with exposed brickwork and beams would be perfect. Somewhere like Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester, a hidden gem located in a fantastic five storey Grade two listed building. I love the fact it is a blank canvas to add your own style – I can imagine it dressed with plenty of twinkling lights, flowers galore, and a real grass aisle of course!

What a wonderful way to add a little extra something to your wedding! If you would like to find out more, Wow Grass have a website as well as Twitter, Facebook Instagram and Pinterest
