Wedding Wednesday – Capturing the Proposal with Engagement Cam

When Ed proposed to me three years ago, it was such an amazing experience, not only because I was committing to stay with a man I loved but also because he had gone to so much effort when it came to the proposal itself. He had set up a treasure hunt for me, culminating in a meal at our favourite restaurant at the time where he got down on one knee and presented me with the most beautiful ring.

It was perfect for us as a couple but if I could go back and change it, one thing I would love was to have caught those special moments on camera for us to look back on. My memories of the proposal are a little hazy, I blame the copious glasses of Prosecco I enjoyed after saying yes, and it would be nice to be able to have that day captured on film.

Engagement Cam provide the opportunity of doing just that. Now I know, the majority of people proposing are men and perhaps capturing the moment on film isn’t necessarily something they will have considered when planning to pop the question, which is why I think it’s so important to make it clear if you’d appreciate having the moment to watch back. Ed didn’t realise but I know he would have worked it into his proposal had I of mentioned it beforehand.

So, how does it work? Engagement Cam provide a discreet way of recording your proposal using their box cams, which can be either rented or purchased to keep.

The boxes are handmade in the UK and are easy to use, eliminating the need to ask somebody else to film for you.

Although simple to use, it is still advisable to practise using the box cam prior to the proposal itself just to make sure you have everything in the frame and to avoid the chance of missing those all important moments.

You can then choose to have your proposal video edited using Engagement Cam’s ‘Trim & Tidy’ service to create a fantastic memento of those special moments. This service involves removing unwanted footage and merging videos together including the proposal itself, putting the ring on and that incredible first kiss after saying yes!
