When it comes to fashion, being bold usually pays off. Ultimately, it’s the risk-takers who succeed.

But what choices are these individuals making? And how does it change how we perceive them? That’s the topic we address in this post. We look at some brave style decisions and whether you should try them.

Display Visible Tattoos

One thing you see a lot of the bravest people doing is getting tattoos in visible areas. While these might be common in hidden parts of the body, individuals are often less willing to put them on display.

In the past, tattoos said something about the type of person you were and the life you lived. Nowadays, it’s a different story with the artwork becoming more popular. Even so, permanently marking your body is a brave choice, and it’s not something you should do on a whim. You need to think carefully about whether you actually want it, and if you do, where you should place the tattoos.

Once you have a tattoo, there are plenty of ways to complement it with your style. Choosing clothing that shoes them off can be an excellent way to celebrate your style and unique look.

Wear Full-Body Prints

Another option is to wear head-to-toe prints. These are a great option whatever your size and create striking looks that immediately make you stand out from the crowd.

Getting full-body prints is challenging, so you’ll want to work hard on getting it right. You need something that flatters your figure while reflecting your personality.

Leopard print is the obvious choice. The iconic design immediately makes you look more exotic and in keeping with nature.

Another option is to go with stars, sequins, or polka dots. Again, these have different visual effects and can affect how others see you.

Full-body print garments can look overwhelming when you see them in the store. But once you try them on, they start to make more sense. Yes, they’re bright and dazzling, but they are also something you can pull off with the right approach and confidence.

Try Haute Couture

You might also want to try haute couture if you’re feeling brave. Donning the latest gowns and garments from the catwalk helps you make a statement and wear something fundamentally different from everyone else.

Some fashion shows are humiliation rituals, but many form the basis for the next round of mainstream fashion items. Therefore, going to these shows and looking at what’s on offer can be helpful. If you spot an emergent trend that looks like it might go mainstream, you can be the first person to hop on board with it. Being brave often means being ahead of 99% of people.

Try to distinguish between instances where designers are trying to grab attention and where they are being genuinely creative. The more you can differentiate their options, the better able you are to pick items that will become more mainstream in the following years. Garments should have classic aesthetics or practicality.

Choose Bold And Bright Colors

Another way to be brave when it comes to style is to choose bold and bright colors. That doesn’t mean you need to wear a neon suit to work, but it can mean making choices you wouldn’t normally consider.

For example, suppose you’ve only bought black or gray suits until now. For playing it safe, that strategy makes sense. But if you want to be daring, it can keep you in a straight jacket and behind the times.

When you get bright colors right, they can be real showstoppers. Suddenly, you become the focal point in the room and it doesn’t matter what other people are wearing.

If you don’t feel comfortable in bright colors at first, keep experimenting. Find something you like that’s appropriate for the types of occasions you attend. Think about whether you’ll wear garments for work, parties, or both.

Show Some Underwear

If you’re feeling daring, you could also show some underwear. Outfits that include these elements can be sexy and daring, letting you reveal more of your wild side.

Of course, you’ll want to ensure you feel comfortable and don’t do anything that might create distress. However, once you get going, there’s no looking back. Adding lingerie is an expected and daring fashion choice that only a small minority of people ever attempt.

Use Extreme Proportions

Another tactic is to use extreme proportions. Here, you disrupt other people’s expectations of how garments should fall, immediately making you stand out.

For example, pairing size 3 UK boots with oversized clothing can be an excellent way to generate a new look. Opting for some parts of your silhouette to be skinny, and other parts baggy, can create a first impression like no other.

Just remember that extreme proportion clothing can be hard to wear. Clothes don’t always fall the way you want them to, and you often have to bear them in mind when traveling on public transport or using the bus. Even so, they can be fun, especially when you experiment with them on the odd night out.

For example, some people try statement sleeves. These ruffle outward from the elbow and help to provide an additional element of interest in garments that you don’t normally find. You could also try pants flares or a cloak.

Try Clashing Prints

Finally, some brave people consider using clashing prints and patterns for their garments. Creating a juxtaposition can be an excellent way to make a bold statement and embrace fashion disasters.

There are all sorts of ways you can go about this, and sometimes, you’ll land on something that works. One option is to pair a checkered blazer or crop top with a leopard print skirt or pants. Another option is to combine tartan with silk.

Keep trying different combinations of colors and sizes until you land on something that makes sense for you. Don’t be afraid if it doesn’t look quite right – that’s half the point.

So there you have it: some of the fashion choices the bravest people make. Which will you try?
