I am happy to hold my hands up and admit that I haven’t tried a lot of Charlotte Tilbury products before, but I was excited to receive the beautifully packaged Hot Lips 2 in Shade JK Magic in celebration of the first birthday of Charlotte Tilbury in John Lewis, Southampton.
The Hot Lips 2 collection has been created in collaboration with 11 iconic people. The lipsticks can be mixed and matched amongst the five collectible and refillable cases, giving you multiple options to find a shade and case that suits your individual personality and style.
JK Magic has been created in homage to JK Rowling. The case is beautiful and perfectly compliments the soft pinky nude shade of the lipstick. As I say, I am not an expert when it comes to the brand, but according to the website, this shade is similar to K.I.S.S.I.N.G in Bitch Perfect. The lipstick has been created using the same formula, which leaves lips moisturised and hydrated – the lipstick glides on nicely and feels soft on application.
The collection is in collaboration with Women for Women International, and £1 million has been pledged from the Hot Lips sales to the charity, helping women survivors of war to rebuild their lives.
I love how wearable this lipstick is. My everyday lipstick is usually shade Faux by MAC, and this is similar in colour. I like that it can be worn on its own during the day, and layered with a shimmery gloss to build the intensity when I am going out to an event. As well as being a flattering shade, the Hot Lips 2 lipstick gives the illusion of fuller lips, which is something I appreciate.
I am keen to try more of the Charlotte Tilbury makeup, especially the limited edition Filmstar Bronze & Glow Set – the packaging is embellished with crystals from Swarovski® and looks incredible.
I was gifted the lipstick featured in this post, however all words and images are my own.
