Ahhh I feel like it’s forever since I have written a chatty, catch-up style post but I figured now was as good a time as any. With the end of November in sight, and the majority of people I know already with their tree up, or planning it for next weekend, I am feeling fairly festive. I have been attending some Christmas events, with more to come over the coming weeks, so there will be plenty of festive content if you are a fan of this time of year.
If you follow me on social media, you may have seen that I started a new job a few months ago, and I feel I have finally started getting used to the new pace of life. It has been a little more challenging than I thought it would be to juggle blogging with my job and running the Bournemouth Blogger network, but I feel that I have gotten into the swing of things better now, and I am really enjoying my new job, and get on well with my manager and colleagues, which is great, having experienced workplace bullying in the past.
The children are all settled into school and nursery, and Benjamin’s speech is really improving, as we had hoped, since he started spending lots of time with other children his own age. He does have a speech therapy session at the end of this week, which I am hoping will give us more of an insight into just how far behind he is with his speech development. Him and Carly are both doing really well with their swimming lessons, which they do with Individuality Swimming, who (in the interest of full disclosure) I had one session with complimentary as part of a blog post, but now pay for the lessons myself.
I pretty much finished my Christmas shopping this weekend, which has taken a weight off of my shoulders. I always try and save money as far in advance as possible for Christmas, as I don’t like running the risk of not having the money at this time of year, but it can still be a little stressful with knowing what to get everybody and the risk of going over budget, so it feels good to almost be done. We are hosting for a lot of our family this Christmas, so the next thing on my list is starting on the food shop. I want to buy a few bits every week over the next few weeks, so that by the weekend before, I should only need the perishable items. Ed has made an order with the butcher for the meat already, so that is all sorted.
Other than that, I am feeling pretty good mental health wise, which is brilliant, as last year I struggled a lot more from September-December. As well as taking antidepressants, I have also started taking Vitamin D3 supplements, and I swear these have had a great effect on my outlook each morning. As somebody who suffers from Seasonal Affective Disorder, the weather at this time of year can really upset my mood, but I have definitely noticed it having less of an impact on my mood this year.
So yeah, that’s probably about it from me for now. I hope you are all enjoying my posts. If there is anything you particularly enjoy or would like to see more of, please do let me know as I love hearing your feedback…
