•Complimentary review visit•
Ed and I love to visit restaurants we haven’t been to together before and we were invited along for a review visit to celebrate 30 years of Cafe Rouge, giving us the perfect opportunity to enjoy a date night together.
On the night we visited, there was a two for one offer on, so the restaurant was full and there was a brilliant, bustling atmosphere. Despite slightly longer times between courses, we enjoyed the chance to chat – adult conversation can be hard when you have three children at home!
This August bank holiday weekend, Cafe Rouge are offering a special menu to celebrate the company turning 30. Having turned 30 myself earlier this year, I love that the menu is called ‘Dine Like it’s 1989’!
It includes some of Cafe Rouge’s signature dishes like their Croques – a grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough with béchamel sauce, as well as the Steak Frites, which Ed had during our visit.
The best bit about the celebratory menu? The prices have been knocked right down and the Steak Frites will only set you back £7.95 during the bank holiday weekend. You can choose to upgrade to sweet potato fries for a £1 supplement and add a sauce of your choice for an additional £2.25, as Ed did, still making the meal an affordable £11.20!
If that isn’t enough reason to head along over the weekend, they also have pastries at 95p and a glass of their house red or white wine for just £3.75. I’m debating whether two visits in one week is excessive…
We were provided with a complimentary meal, however all words and images are my own.
