I have a confession to make. Ever since summer last year, we’ve been using a Primark beach bag in place of a proper changing bag.
Seriously. It’s old, it’s pretty smelly these days, and it looks absolutely ridiculous, especially when you’re lugging it around in the depths of winter. I knew I needed a change (pun intentional).
When Mia Tui, whose excellent Matilda-Mae handbag was featured in my Mother’s Day Gift Guide, got in touch offering to send me over their award winning Jennie changing bag to review, I said yes immediately.
The bag arrrived in a pretty pink dust bag, to keep it in pristine condition during transit. I’d had a quick look online at the description, but I was still a bit taken aback by just how much this bag had to it.
Although Benjamin is now 17 months, and doesn’t require some of the bag’s features, it’s still very much suitable for us. However, it would also be perfect for a new mum, and would make an excellent baby shower gift.
It’s a total Mary Poppins style bag – able to fit a vast amount of items inside and kitted out with pockets, clips and hidden zips. There’s not one but two insulated bottle holders, a clear zipped bag, buggy clips and removable straps, to transform the bag.
It even comes with a travel mat, in its very own bag, which will come in useful when we are out and about as changing Benjamin on those cold, hard plastic changing tables in public toilets.
The bag also comes with its own matching clutch bag, which is brilliant if you’re off out on your own and don’t need to carry around the bigger bag.
Having said that, the best bit about this bag, is that it could pass as a normal, if a little larger than some, handbag. Due to how spacious it is, I’ve managed to not only fit in all of Benjamin’s nappies, wipes, teething gels and all those other bits and pieces that you need with a toddler, but also all of the contents of my own handbag, meaning I don’t need to take two bags with me when we’re out for the day.
The bag also has a pocket on the back, which allows you to attach it to your suitcase, giving you use of your hands to do the million and one things you need to when taking young children away.
I went for the gorgeous tan colour, but you can also get this bag in navy, graphite, black and pewter, all totally chic and stylish. Made from soft but durable materials, and with a high quality finish, I’m confident this bag will stand the test of time (and looks a million times better than my Primark beach bag).
Available from Mia Tui’s website, and priced at £60, this bag is well worth it if you’re looking for a new changing bag, that doesn’t scream ‘I only answer to mummy now’.
I was sent the Jennie travel changing bag in Tan for the purpose of this review, however all opinions and photos are my own.
