Now we are a full week into November I think it’s totally acceptable to be talking about Christmas. I’ve got a few gift guides coming up over the next couple of weeks but I thought I would start with gift ideas for the man in your life.
Ed is totally hard to buy for as he never really lets on to what it is he wants, unless he’s lusting over the new iPhone X or Apple Watch, neither of which are within my budget…
I’ve put together a selection of gifts that I think he would love, and hopefully will provide inspiration for anyone else not sure what to buy their husband, Dad, brother or other male relative, partner or friend…
Hidden Pattern Socks – Quiet Rebellion*
Ed works in a school so he has to be sensible with his clothing choices. These socks from Quiet Rebellion are brilliant for somebody who has a playful side but needs to be more reserved in public.
I may have to give Ed these festive ones as an early Christmas gift so he can wear them in the last week of term, but the range also have a whole host of non seasonal novelty hidden patterns and even a subscription service, which looks brilliant!
Va Va Voom Print – Art of Football*
My dad and brother are big football fans. The problem is, I am a complete novice and don’t know anything about the sport. Art of Football have some gorgeous prints available on their site.
If football isn’t their thing, there’s also a selection of designs for boxing and rugby as well, and the prints are also available on a range of clothing from tees to sweatshirts.
Star Wars Pens – Sheaffer*
Ed loves Star Wars. I mean, really loves it. He has Lego Star Wars figures on display in the house and we ended up going to watch the new Star Wars film twice a couple of years ago just before Christmas!
Although I don’t share his passion for the Death Star, we recently had matching tattoos based around the infamous exchange between Han Solo and Princess Leia and when I came across these Sheaffer pens, available in the UK from John Lewis, I knew Ed would love them!
Perfect stocking fillers, or a brilliant secret santa gift for a Star Wars fan, I know these pens will be well received!
Chilli Advent Calendar – Sous Chef*
This is another gift I’m going to give to Ed prior to Christmas itself to fully appreciate, but I wanted to include it in the gift guide as it’s such an original and fun idea!
Each day, instead of your typical chocolate, this quirky take on the advent calendar, from Sous Chef, provides you with a range of different chillis including whole, flakes and powders, which can then be added to the stock cupboard ready to add flavour and flair to your meals for weeks to come – such an excellent idea!
The Ultimate Cheese Making Kit – Sous Chef*
Another offering from the people at Sous Chef, this cheese making kit is one of many fun and practical gift ideas on their site. I am boring when it comes to cheeses and stick to a good old cheddar, or maybe Red Leicester if I’m feeling like a change.
In contrast, Ed loves nothing more than a good cheeseboard with lots of variety. This gift will give him the chance to make his own cheeses including goat’s cheese, ricotta and halloumi.
Dress Shoes – Dobell*
I hadn’t heard of Dobell before but their website offers a huge selection of clothing, accessories and gift ideas for men including a large range of smart shoes. As Ed is working in a school now, he needs to wear smart shoes to work.
Although not your typical gift idea, I know he is going to appreciate a new pair of shoes suitable for work and special occasions. They are really affordable too for such high quality!
Festive Jumper – Not for Ponies*
Who doesn’t love a good festive jumper? This one, from Not for Ponies, is perfect for Christmas Day itself when Ed will be busy cooking up a storm in the kitchen with the festive tunes playing.
I love the reindeer design – I can see me stealing it for myself to cover up evidence of all those extra pigs in blankets over the festive season.
Rumbullion Spiced Rum – Asda
Ed’s favourite drink is spiced rum and coke and he’s become a bit of connoisseur of spiced rum. When we stayed at the Captains Club hotel recently, he claimed to have found the nicest tasting rum yet. Rumbullion should be nice at £35 for a 75cl bottle, but apparently it’s worth every penny and Ed is very much looking forward to receiving this on Christmas morning.
TGI Fajita Set – Boots
I love getting cooking gifts for people. Cooking really brings people together, and it’s the gift that keeps on giving! This fajita set is in the 3 for 2 deal at Boots, and the quality looks brilliant.
The products with an asterisk* beside them were kindly gifted to me, however all opinions and photos remain my own.
This has actually given me some great ideas, the star wars pen and cheese making kit would be perfect for my dad and my boyfriend would love those funky socks haha!
