Happy New Year everyone!
I know a lot of people don’t believe in making resolutions at the beginning of the year, that you shouldn’t wait until a year has finished to change your life for the better. I disagree. I think the start of the year is the perfect time to make changes you’ve noticed need making.
This year my resolutions focus on living more in the moment. I want to distance myself from my phone a bit, as I seem to have an unhealthy obsession. I plan to take photos, not with an agenda behind them but to capture the moment. However, I also want to just experience things and not let anything get in the way.
I want to continue my blog, but not let it take over everything else. I plan to continue my Mummy Monday posts (parenting), my Wedding Wednesdays (wedding planning), my makeup and beauty product lust lists and reviews (beauty) and my foodie friday posts (although these will also be joined by fitness updates and tips as I aim to lose my mum tum and tone up ready for wedding dress shopping in March).
I am also going to be introducing a couple of new monthly features to the blog to accompany my Monthly Plans. Keep a lookout for the first of these, coming soon…
I would love to increase visitors to my site, raise my DA and get more followers and likes across the social media board but I’m not going to set any unrealistic goals as I don’t want to let it take over.
Alongside my blog I plan to upload one video a week to my YouTube channel. Rather than limit myself to one type of video I will be rotating themes throughout the month, with a mixture of fitness, food, beauty and parenting, much like the blog.
If I get the chance I would love to continue writing a story I wrote when I was just a teenager as I have always hoped it would be something others would find interesting to read, and let’s face it, what writer doesn’t secretly dream of having their name in print on their very own book?
Health & Fitness:
As I mentioned, I do aim to change my figure during the first few months of the year. Having now had three kids, I have lumps and bumps in places I don’t want them, and I want to feel amazing for our wedding in September so I’ve given myself the motivation of dress shopping in March to help me drop the pounds and tone up. I’ve quit the gym in favour of getting back into running and exercising from home.
In a couple of weeks we will be moving house and I cannot wait to start another new chapter of our lives in a beautiful home with a garden and a park just a couple of minutes walk away. My mum lives just a few minutes away and Cameron’s school is only a five minute drive as well so it’s a better location than where we’ve been.
So those are my resolutions for this year. Have you made any?
