After our amazing date night back in November courtesy of the brilliant new subscription box Get Date Night, Ed and I were so excited to receive our December box.
I was secretly hoping it would have a festive theme and, although the theme itself isn’t Christmassy, there was a sprig of mistletoe in the box with the cutest slogan print to go alongside (made for a perfect Instagram shot too, win!).
As I mentioned before, I love how personalised they make the box, with your names on the welcome note. This month’s box had 7 litttle black envelopes to match up to 7 individually wrapped black parcels – it was all very intriguing. I filmed the beginning of our date night for vlogmas, you can check it out here.
Each card led us seamlessly onto the next step, much like a treasure hunt for adults. We set the mood with the tea lights and the Spotify relaxing music playlist before applying the essential oil to each other’s pressure points and brewing the minty tea. It was then time for the face mask, which Ed wasn’t too keen on putting on but I talked him round.
Opening the next envelope, we decided it was time to stop rolling the cameras so things could be a little more intimate for the second half of date night which involved a shared candlelit bath complete with a gorgeous rose bath melt and delicious smelling soap (seriously, this soap smelt like a more refined version of refresher sweets, I’m so sad it’s nearly all gone already).
After our bath, we took it in turns to massage each other with the provided oil. It was totally heavenly and the first time I’ve truly relaxed since Benjamin was born. It felt like we were in a spa somewhere with the candles, oil and relaxing music playing, rather than our lounge with the curtains shut and towels down on the floor.
To end the date night we each had a delicious chocolate truffle which was seriously one of the best I’ve tasted – so yum! Perfect finish to the evening.
I would recommend the Get Date Night subscription box to every couple out there. The attention to detail when preparing the dates is brilliant and means you don’t have to think about anything, just follow the instructions for the perfect date night. The boxes are personalised and the products inside are all of the highest quality leaving you feeling like you’ve truly indulged. We will definitely be using the service again in future, although we’ve had to take a break whilst we move house – I’m hoping we don’t miss any amazing boxes in the meantime.
November’s date night box was sent free for the purpose of review, however it was just so good we bought December’s box ourselves and loved it even more!
